That's okay, we'll just hang those ones from the ceiling in the office.
Some Night Fury's just can't "stand" on a shelf due to the way they are posed.

Why do eBay sellers think that just because its a used item, you wont mind if it arrives MORE banged up? I received a bunch of boxes today - all too small for what was crammed in them - and some in ENVELOPES. ENVELOPES?! Come ON people. Use some common sense! Bubble wrap it, put it in a box. What did I pay $10 in shipping for? A $1 envelope?! No. Onto nicer things - small photo shoot of the 2010 Spin Master Toothlesses, a series of 3 that were released. I purchased a set that were un-boxed for display. You can see them on my collection page too. Sure - they all LOOK the same - but can you find the differences? Now that the turkey coma has passed.... Apparently this Toothless and Hiccup were only released in UK McDonalds. Shipping is an arm and a leg to get anything here from offshore, but even if you buy a US version (used, not new in package), it equals out the same cost wise. So I caved, and just got a new one from a UK seller. Yay for international eBay! I decided I just wasn't going to surrender to $25 plus shipping for this ornament when its a new release and still sold in Hallmark stores for only $14.95. So I called around to some local stores and found one with some in stock! The weather is perfect today for a little outing too.
Toy marketers are making money by selling a battle mini dragon with a cheap little dragon trap to make it seem like a 'new toy', when in fact its the same as the battle mini that's sold separately. None the less, they are Toothlesses and came to join the collection today. Picked up something new off eBay today. I suppose as a collector its a good thing I'm almost not much of a baker. Sometimes I wish they'd ban access to eBay at work - that way I couldn't browse on my downtime and find little unique finds like this little guy on eBay's United Kingdom site. $32 to get him from the UK to the US. Sheesh! That 7.99 looks like chump change until you realize its not converted yet. No idea where this one is from. The auction only stated it was NOT a McDonald's toy. Another interesting find was this How to Train Your Dragon 2 re-packaging of the original "giant fire breathing toothless" HTTYD toy. I've only seen this on the UK site, so it must not be available yet in the US. And this HTTYD 2 repackaging found in China. I did pick it up, as it was only $6 US to get and free economy shipping. Its literally the same as this guy, turned around and titled up. They just slapped a HTTYD2 on the box. Since the e-mail from Spin Master, I have been periodically checking the online sites to see if the Ice Fling Toothless was available for purchase yet. It's not here in central USA yet. Found it on eBay today with an additional hiccup figure. SOLD! Picked these McDonald's released Toothless off eBay for a buck. |
